The Town of Porcupine Plain is located in the Northeast Parkland adjacent to Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. Rich agricultural land, rolling hills, mixed forest and numerous lakes make this one of the most beautiful areas in the Province.

With a history embedded in the fur trade and cordwood industry, Porcupine Plain still boasts the pioneer spirit that made it the friendly, energetic and purposeful community that it is today.
Porcupine Plain is proud of the services it offers. From our two schools providing K-12 education for approximately 400 students, our modern hospital with 8 acute and 4 long term beds, our nursing home with 38 long term and 2 respite beds, our housing authority providing seniors and family housing units, and an RCMP detachment all add to the solid base of services provided by our community.
With Porcupine Plain being situated 50 miles from the next larger trading centres, we have a vast trading area and our business sector is pleased to include a diverse selection of services.
Recreational activities are abound in Porcupine Plain. Porcupine Plain campsite, skating and curling rinks, swimming pool, theatre, ball diamonds, tennis court, library, museum, and cross country and snowmobile trails as well as a host of service clubs will provide you with social opportunities while our 8 churches will fulfill your spiritual needs.
The area immediately surrounding Porcupine Plain is noted for some of the best moose, elk and white tail deer hunting that you can find anywhere, while our migratory and upland game population provides excellent hunting opportunities. Greenwater, Marean and Steiestol Lakes located nearby provide exceptional walleye, northern pike and rainbow trout fishing.
Quilly Willy, our town mascot, noted to be the largest porcupine in the world, stands at the edge of Porcupine Plain in a roadside park and represents the genuine welcome all residents of Porcupine Plain extends to it's visitors.
